The Alpha Platform Is Finished and Saturday Blitz Is Coming
Another Street Gambit update, and probably the last one I’ll post here before moving everything properly over to streetgambit.com.
First of all, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has joined, played, given feedback, shared the project, or simply supported the idea so far.
The big news is that the Alpha version of The Street Gambit platform is now finished.
It is still early, and there will definitely be things to improve, but this is a big step. The idea has always been simple: make it easier for adults to find real, friendly, competitive chess games against people at their level, at a time and place that actually works.
Now we have the first version of the platform to help make that happen.
Singapore Is Still Going Strong
As some of you know, I have sadly had to move back to Denmark. But that does not mean The Street Gambit Singapore is stopping.
I’m going to keep growing the Singapore community and continue organising casual meetups remotely. Singapore is where this project properly started, and I’m really grateful for the people who helped shape the first version of it.
Round 7 will be delayed by one week to give new players a chance to join before we start matching again.
The Danish Community Is Now Live
At the same time, the Danish community is now live too.
We currently have around 25 Danes ready to play, which is very exciting. Once we reach 30 players, I’ll start the first round in Denmark.
It feels a bit surreal to now have The Street Gambit growing in two countries, but also exactly like the direction this project was meant to go.
First Online Tournament
While we wait for the next Singapore round, I’m also going to run our first online tournament.
This will be a casual Saturday blitz arena for The Street Gambit Singapore community on Chess.com.
The Street Gambit Saturday Blitz Arena
Time: Saturday, 20:00–21:00
Format: Arena
Time control: 3+2
Duration: 60 minutes
Platform: Chess.com
Arena link: https://www.chess.com/play/arena/31248009
Club: https://www.chess.com/club/the-street-gambit-singapore
The format is simple: play as many 3+2 games as you can in 60 minutes. It should be fun, fast, and competitive without being too serious.
I’m also planning to stream the tournament, but I just have to figure out where. Once that’s decided, I’ll share the link with everyone.
If you haven’t joined the Chess.com club yet, please do so before Saturday.
Exciting Days Ahead
There is still a lot to build, test, and improve. But finishing the Alpha platform, growing the Singapore community, launching Denmark, and starting our first online tournament feels like a big moment.
Thank you again to everyone who has been part of this so far.
Exciting days ahead.
